Green silk and gilt metallic yarns (yellow core)

Pairs of animals with pseudo-Kufic writing on their bodies and pairs of birds in gold and silver on rose.

The ground is faded orange satin.  The design, which consists of a repetition of the scene in the garden when Christ appears to Mary Magdalene, is woven with linen thread wound with gilded gold-beaters skin;  the faces and hands are woven with white silk and the ground with green silk.

Design of interlacing yellow bands outlined with pinkish red silk. Geometric designs in the intervening spaces woven with pinkish red, light and dark blue, white, and yellow silk. Narrow border design, evidently cut from same piece is sewed on one end. Worn.

Silk, gilt-animal-substrate-wrapped linen, warp-float faced 4:1 satin weave with supplementary patterning wefts bound by secondary binding warps in twill interlacings

Textile fragment with gold ground, gold weft (gilded skin wound on yellow silk, worn and tarnished) covering red silk warp; design of arabesques forming rows of arches woven with green, blue, and white silk weft and red warp (satin).  The white silk has largely disappeared.

Design of interlacing yellow bands. The intervening spaces woven with blue, red, and white silk.

Ground: blue silk. Design: stars and interlacing geometric forms woven with blue, green, yellow, red and white silk. Fine red silk warp and weft. Design brought out by additional colored wefts, about 23/centimetre on surface. Worn.

Fragment with neutral blue satin ground patterned with dogs gazing at duck flying into conventionalized cloud surrounded by rays of light. Dog and duck woven with tarnished gold thread (gilded skin wound on linen), clouds, conventionalized plants and bird on a branch woven with green, cream, and white silk. Worn and faded, three pieces sewed together. 1972 - taken apart, labled a, b, c.
