Description

Tapestry woven in silk and wool. On the right underneath a great hanging fastened to two columns sits Spring. She is elaborately dressed and holds a bunch of flowers in her right hand, and in her left is stretched out to a large bunch of flowers at her side. Round her are five women with bunches and baskets of flowers. On the extreme right is a large vase decorated with flowers, and in the background on the left is a party of men and women dancing round a maypole in an elaborate flower garden while others look on. A gardener is seen carrying out from a house a tree in a large tub. Tapestry woven in silk and wool, Brussels, ca. 1690-1720
