Description

Dragon robe, silk tapestry (kesi), China, Qing dynasty, Daoguang period (1821-1850). Dragon robe of silk tapestry (kesi), on a red background pattern of cloud forms, the eight attributes of the Daoist Immortals, lotus flowers, five-clawed dragons, a wide lower border of water and mountains. The skirts are split on either side as far as the waist. The robe is lined with dark blue silk.
