Description
Dress fabric of brocaded silk, Spitalfields, London, 1780-1785
Dress fabric of brocaded white silk. With columns outlined in green and garlands of roses twining around them. There are smaller brocaded sprigs between the main stripes. Brocaded satin and tabby with an additional warp forming a cannellé effect in the ground. Selvages of 0.25 inch pink tabby with one green stripe and one outer cord.
