Description

This silk warp ikat is used for bodices, petticoats and trousers. The fabric is more suitable for the thin garments required for the southern climate of Tamil Nadu. Fragment of silk ikat fabric. Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, ca. 1855.
