Description

This Gajji silk, tie-dyed head-cover, called a chorsa in the acquisition records, is made up of two identical pieces sewn together. Odhani, silk, Gujarat, c. 1867 This beautiful head-cover, or odhani, is made up of two identical pieces and was aquired by the Museum in 1867, for 40 rupees. A note written at the time states that it was highly 'valued on account of the time and labour bestowed on it in the dyeing'.
