Description

Man's belt ikat woven with silk and cotton, Bali, Indonesia, 19th century. Man's belt ikat woven with a silk weft and cotton warp. The cotton warp is red and the silk weft is dyed white, black or red. The motive of the design is repeated in reverse and consists of two zig-zag bands of rough fret ornament. Above and below is a band of black and white slots. The ground is red.
