Description

Man's waistcoat with a ¾-inch (2 cm) standing collar, straight fronts and curving skirts reaching to the middle of the thigh. Each front has a pocket and pointed pocket flap. The fronts and pocket flaps are made of bleached linen with narrow vertical stripes of green twill; the back is linen. The waistcoat, pockets and pocket flaps are lined with linen. The front is double-breasted and can be buttoned to either side. There is 1 worked buttonhole on the left side of the collar and 1 on the left front at the waist, each with a green and white silk covered button on the right. The overlapping fronts are edged with 10 worked buttonholes and 1 placed diagonally in the upper corner. Each front has 11 green and white silk buttons down the centre, so that it can button across on the other side or back on itself.
