Description

Two parts of a man's waistcoat, 1775-1785, British; Cream silk taffeta, coloured embroidery, silver thread Right front and back and left front of a man’s waistcoat made of cream silk taffeta, embroidered with coloured silks and silver filé in a pattern of flowers, feathers and wheat sheaves. It has a round neckline, shaped pocket flaps and short skirts reaching to the top of the thigh.. The waistcoat is lined with fustian, backed and faced with cream silk twill.
