Furnishing fabric 'Elstree' in silk satin, designed by Bruce James Talbert, made by Warner and Sons, Spitalfields, 1875
Furnishing fabric of silk twill satin. The black satin ground is covered with a small repeating pattern of leaves and flowers in brown-olive silk which looks like gold in some lights. Details of the flowers are picked out in bands of purple, deep yellow, bright pinky-red and pale pink.
