Description

Textile fragment of brocaded silk in silk and gilt paper strips, Japan, first half of 19th century Textile fragment of brocaded silk in silk and gilt paper strips. Pattern in gold on a yellow-brown ground and consists of large curved stems bearing peonies, dragon medallions and three of the Takaramono or Treasures of the Gods of Luck, rolls of brocade and cash devices with blossoms.
