Description

See also an indenture for the apprenticeship of William Charles Haines at the Royal Windsor Tapestry Works. Tapestry panel woven in wool and silk in three shades of pink, six shades of green, three shades of brown, cream and maroon. The warp is of 3-ply white cotton, 26 threads to the inch. It depicts, on a pale green ground a slender stem bears three clusters of five-petalled flowers and offshoots with long, slim leaves, filling a rectangle marked by a bead and reel moulding. Outside this is a plain maroon border. Tapestry screen panel in silk and wool, possibly woven by William Haines, Royal Windsor Tapestry Manufactory, England, 1881-1890
