This woman is the epitome of 19th-century elegance. Her kimono is delicately patterned around the hem only, while her wide obi is elaborately tied. Her hair is swept up and styled with a comb and pins in the latest fashion. The artist, Teisai Hokuba, was known for his detailed depictions of dress.
