Panel, made of a full width and a partial width, seamed along selvedges. Natural cotton tabby-woven ground, roller-printed in red. Background composed of shaded bands; pattern shows clusters of leaves and branches of bell-like flowers arranged in two undulating columns. Faded; brown stains. A few very small holes.

A pair of abutted spheres showing the eastern and western hemispheres as they appeared between Cook's voyages and the Louisiana Purchase (1769-1803). Title is placed at the center top, the directional star at the center bottom. Each country and its colonies are delineated in a particular color. Soiled; some worn yarns; edges of ground partially frayed.  Stitches: couching, running, stem.

Natural cotton ground, printed in blue with woodblock. Shows vertically undulating vine bearing roses, trumpet-shaped flowers, peonies, pinks and other blossoms and leaves. Cotton browned, blue faded unevenly. Selvedge along left side.

Piece of natural cotton ground. Main area shows blue and green shaded leaves with brown outlines arranged in a lattice pattern. Wide borders at sides show large oval medallions made up of pointed segements; thistle leaves inside and between medallions. Both selvedges. Glazed. A few small holes and stains.

Square cover with light green ground discharged and printed with large gold rose (now faded from rose?) surrounded by vine with smaller roses.

Piece of ingrain carpeting. Double-cloth weave; all wool yarns in shades or red and yellow-green. Shows part of a design composed of scrolling oak or acanthus leaves, rosettes and ivy, with a secondary striped effect in the greens. Colors reverse on back. Selvedge along one side; other side turned under. Ends raveling. A few stains and breaks.

Natural undyed tabby-woven cotton, block and roller-printed in shades of red, blue, mauve, and black. Alternate columns of floral pattern, large-scaled on blue, small-scaled on white. Made of two widths of chintz, seamed and trimmed all round with white, yellow and green cotton fringe. One long tear and several holes, patches and repairs. Faded and stained.

White cotton warp and weft with heavier cotton wefts used for body and, where required, for looped pattern.  Large eight-pointed star in center surrounded by conventionalized tulips and star-shaped flowers.  Around this, a wide border composed of eight-armed units made of conventionalized tulips and trees.  Several rectilinear borders beyond this decorated with conventionalized roses and eight-pointed stars, diamonds and crosses.  Edged with white cotton tape.  Worn and darned.  Cotton browned.  Three brown stains.

Panel of polychrome printed cotton on a tan ground. Repeat of pair of confronted birds among flowering trees. Pieced and patched a great deal. One length of complete loom width.

Design of scrolling leaves interspersed with small animals. Center red field; white ground inner border; wider blue ground border with details of seated mermen type figures playing guitars with lions; red ground outer border.

White woolen cloth closely embroidered with a design of conventional animals, flowers, women and birds.  The ground is worked with dark red wool; the design with blue, green, yellow and black wool and white cotton.  Of the same type as the embroidered Spanish rugs.  Worn and moth-eaten.  (See note on 96.109).

Printed in red, ochre, 3 shades of blue, 2 shades of brown, and black on cotton.  Stripes, alternating wide and narrow, parallel to warp.  Wide stripe has blue ground with scenes of hunting dogs alternating with clusters of flowers.  Narrow stripe has scenes of a woman holding a bird alternating with vases of flowers on a stippled ground.

General Winfield Scott, scene from the Mexican war. Two pieces stitched at center.  Ground: white cotton.  Design: printed in colors from engraved roller; Generat Scott mounted on a white horse leads American cavalry against the Mexicans; blue mountains (?) in distance, flowers and foliage in foreground, and separating scenes.  Colors: brown, green, reddish orange, blue and yellow.  Glazed. Pieced.
