Embroidered with horizontal zig-zag patterns in shades of green, beige, red, grey-blue and black. This panel would have been stretched and mounted into a wooden frame with a handle. It was intended to be held by a lady to shield her face from the heat of a fire. The initials of Dorcas Haines are embroidered above the central motif and the date is below.
