Description

Pair of woman's shoes, made from Iranian silk with floral motifs in apricot, green, white and black, made in England, ca. 1710 A pair of women's shoes made of silk., woven in Iran, in a pattern of ornate apricot-coloure flowers and abstract curvilinear shapes in white and green, all surrounded with borders of flowers against a black ground. The quarters and tongue are edged with two strands of narrow metal lace (braid). The shoes each have a leather sole and white leather rand. They have pointed toes curving upwards and shaped wooden heels.
