Folding parasol with printed silk cover and turned wood stick; English, 1840-50 A small parasol with a cover of cream silk with a deep, printed paisley band. The lining is pale pink, possibly made from silk jersey. There is a deep cream fringe around the cover edge and outside rosette. The stick is hinged to fold, with a metal sliding stopper to keep it straight while open.
