The complete piece would have been intended for use as a garment, clothing. Wrapped garment, woven in textured stripes of black, pink, orange, pale blue and gold coloured silk. The hems have wide bands of gold-wrapped thread and narrow bands with coloured designs, mainly blue and red; the borders have bands of gold-wrapped thread with stripes of chevrons on either side.
