Description

Ribbon of Jacquard woven silk brocaded in silks, made by Thomas Stevens, Coventry, 1863 Ribbon of Jacquard woven silk brocaded in white and deep pink. At the top and bottom is a floral motif of thistles, shamrock and rose. In between is the Prince of Wales's feathers with the motto 'Ich Dien', a wreath about the names 'ALBERT EDWARD PRINCE OF WALES AND PRINCESS ALEXANDRIA OF DENMARK', the words 'MARRIED MARCH 10 1863. GOD BLESS THE ROYAL PAIR', and in a scroll is 'PROSPERITY ATTEND THEM'. The foot of the ribbon is trimmed with narrow white braid with a diamond motif, and a fringe about an inch long. A narrow strip at the top of the ribbon, turned over to the back and stuck down to strengthen the end, has on it the inscription 'T. STEVENS MANFR COVENTRY'.
