Description

Square shawl of woven silk and wool. Creamy white wool with decoration in brown slubbed spots repeated in staggered rows over the ground, and with brown stripes forming a narrow border containing slubbed yarns in purple and puce. There is a short fringe, warp and weft, on all four sides. The shawl is reversible. Square shawl of woven silk and wool, possibly made in Yorkshire, 1860-1870
