Description

The complete piece would have been intended for use as a garment, clothing. Silk fragment, red silk checked with black, which is patterned with small white flower motifs; borders woven with gold-wrapped thread in the form of birds, plants and animals. Textile, red silk fragment, Gujarat, ca. 1855-1879.
